How the score works
- 01
Trend (35%): where the price sits against its 50 and 200-day averages, and its three-month move against the JSE Top 40.
- 02
Earnings (25%): revenue and earnings growth from the latest reported numbers.
- 03
Macro (25%): each segment’s exposure to rates, inflation, retail sales, confidence, the rand, growth, lending and car sales, set against which way each is moving now.
- 04
Value (15%): forward price-to-earnings (lower scores higher) and dividend yield.
- 05
Trend, earnings and value are ranked against the other shares on the list, so 50 is the middle of the pack, not a pass mark. Missing data counts as the middle.
- 06
The macro reading compares the latest release with the one three months or three releases earlier; the rand compares with three months ago.
Artive Capital doesn’t raise outside capital; it only trades and invests Artive’s own, and has no clients. This is a screen we use to decide where to look, not a recommendation to buy or sell anything. Prices are delayed and third-party data can be wrong; check with your broker before you act.
We don’t take outside money, but we always like talking markets and commerce.
